Terms of service

1. Who we are

Lightyear is provided by [Company legal name], registered under number [Company registration number], at [Registered address] (“we”, “us”). “You” means the business that installs Lightyear, and the people it invites to use it.

2. What Lightyear does

Lightyear connects to your Shopify store and, if you choose, to your Meta, Google and Klaviyo accounts. It shows how your pages and ads perform, drafts new versions of your pages, and runs split tests of them. A page version goes live on your store only after you approve it. You can stop a test at any time.

3. Your account

• You must be able to make contracts for the business you represent, and be 18 or older.
• Keep your sign-in safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Only invite people who work for your business, or whom you trust with its data.

4. Your responsibilities

• You decide what to approve. Check each page version before you approve it: its claims, prices, offers and legal text are yours.
• Tell your shoppers about Lightyear in your store's privacy policy, and run a cookie banner where the law requires one. Lightyear respects the consent your banner collects through Shopify.
• Follow the terms of Shopify, Meta, Google and Klaviyo when you connect them.
• Do not use Lightyear to break the law, to mislead shoppers, or to attack or overload the service.

5. Your data

Your store data, and the data of your shoppers, stays yours. You give us the right to use it only to provide Lightyear to you, as the privacy policy describes. When you uninstall the app, we delete your store's data, as the data deletion page describes.

We may use results that are aggregated and cannot identify you, your store or any person, to improve Lightyear. We never do this with Google user data. [Lawyer: confirm.]

6. Other platforms

Lightyear depends on Shopify, Meta, Google and Klaviyo. We do not control them. If one of them changes or limits its service, a Lightyear feature may change or stop.

7. Fees

8. Early access

Lightyear is in early access. Features can change. We provide it “as is”, and we do not promise any result in sales or conversion.

9. Liability
